Morning Dew

One Wednesday.

I had to get up early because Mom and Dad were picking me up at exactly 6:00 in the morning. I was not very happy with the idea, but.. Mom had go to the Philhealth office to inquire about my grandma's medical benefits and such.. so, I obliged. The travel alone from our place to the city, takes up 50-60 minutes (that is, if there's not much traffic). And since the office usually opens at 9:00 in the morning, we should be on our way, at exactly 6am to be the first client in line. Yeah, we had to be early, as the lines at that office are usually a mile long. Okay. I was exaggerating.

Well, my Mom is a "planner". I mean, she always has a plan, list and a schedule, bordering OCD. A complete list of what to do, what to buy, where to go.. things like that. Sometimes, she can be pretty annoying. (I love you, mom! ☺) But I do understand her. It's good to be organized and be early, you won't have to panic. As they say, the early bird catches the worm.

Anyway, the night before, I willed myself to sleep at 10:00 in the evening. I usually sleep at around midnight. I'm a night person. But since I have to wake up early the next day, I willed myself to sleep early. Okay, so I woke up at around 4am and then, took a bath. A frown on my face. The water was cold. Brrr..... It was around 5:30 when I went outside to wait for my parents.

5:45. They haven't arrived yet. I'm getting tired, just standing outside our gate. Crap. I was starting to get pissed. I hate waiting. "I know I should have slept a wee bit longer.", I thought. Then the first few sun rays started to show and greeted me and the dew drops on grass started to appear. I started to smile.

I am not a morning person.. but I appreciate beautiful mornings whenever I do wake up early. The fresh cool air and the morning light.. Early mornings. They always are a sight to behold. I had my camera with me, so I decided to get some close-up shots.. Ordinary grass with dew drops.

It was 6:10 when my parents arrived, then we were on our way to the city. It was a very tiring day.. Aside from going to the Philhealth office, we did some grocery shopping and some other errands.

I admit, I was not very happy with my mom's instruction to wake up early. I was like, "It's too damn early to travel. I mean, it's just 60 kilometers away.. for Pete's sake." But then, being greeted by a very lovely display of sun rays and dew drops, my irritation started to slip away. The view was simply beautiful.

Truly, even a night owl like me could appreciate the view of a beautiful morning's first light.

  1. These are lovely. I've enlarged them all, and I think I like the second Blavk and White best, but it's so hard to choose!

  3. Well, These are beautiful macros of grass and dew. I am a morning person, and I'm glad you were rewarded for getting up so early. Always take your camera, you never know when a great shot will appear, and once they're gone, you will not see them again. I learned that by many experiences!
    Thanks for visiting!

  7. Really beautiful shots. I particularly like the 4th b&w photo - the way only a few drops are in focus. Excellent.
    Cheers,
