Google+

Good day, lovely people!

It's a cloudy Monday in this part of town. I'm feeling so much better now. I thank all of you who dropped by and left me with some wonderful tips. Yeah, I'd sure start drinking lots of water from now on and I'd try to stop munching on junk food. TRY is the word. Hihi.

Anyway, I'm sure all of you have heard of the latest buzz on the internet. It's about this latest social project from Google, the Google+. Though it is only on its field trial, it has already been deemed to be Facebook's sole competitor in the world of social networking. Now, I don't know about that. I am pretty much convinced that Facebook is.. well, Facebook, the reigning king of social networks. But I'm willing to give this a shot.

And so.. Hello, Google+.

I'm still trying to figure out the kinks on this whole big G project. At first, I find it so complex, but now I'm starting to like it. Well, first feature is the Circles. The user can make a category for his circle of "friends" (family, acquaintance, colleagues, etc) based on what he would like to share to them. This is one tool that can somehow help solve the privacy problem. However, I'd have to point that that it kinda looks like the group/list feature of Facebook. Oh, well.

Next is the Hangouts. It is said to allow the users to enjoy video chat with the people within that specific circle. I haven't tried using this feature. Not yet, but I will eventually.

Sparks is the one feature that I think I'd learn to truly like. It's like having all my interests in just one tab. All I have to do is click it, and viola! It's just like Google Search, but it simply keeps tabs on all of your interests. Google will automatically get all the information, based on your selected interest. I think it's cool.

Hmm. So what do I think of Google+?

Google+ looks great and it seems to be planned and built for the long haul. I like it. It offers some new and cool ways to share content, without the hassle of having privacy problems. But the question is, will it survive the giants Twitter and Facebook?

Only time will tell.

P.S.
If you have a Google+ account, do add me up. I will love you forever. ♥  { leah.sayomac at gmail dot com }

  12. Thank you so much for posting this! I haven't checked out Google+ yet, but I've heard so many vague comments about it. You were wonderfully specific and gave me a great overview about it.

    Of course, I'm old enough to remember when myspace was the king of the social networks, so I wouldn't make Facebook out to be unbeatable if I were you. But I have heard that Google+ hasn't really beaten Facebook on much of anything so far.

    Again, thanks for the review and I hope you have fun with your new network! Have a great day!

  19. The low self esteem that comes with being on a new social networking website really puts me off. Haha. BUT if they get enough of my friends on there, I'll definitely give it a try. :)

  23. Google+ is somehow ambitious but they got the codes working. The most important thing here is privacy: With Circles, it will be unlike Friendster or Facebook wherein people see your group of friends. Yun ang gusto ko sa Google+, at pwede ka rin makahanap ng Circle na kapareho mo ng interests.

  28. Happy that you are back and fit! =D
    and google+ IS good mainly because of the circles and the hang outs. I'm still trying to figure it out but I'm pretty sure its way better than the previously initiated Wave and Buzz by google.
