Christmas comes early in the Philippines.. ♥
Yep. There's Halloween this November, but we don't go trick-or-treating anyway. And besides, the Christmas season is the most anticipated and most favorite holiday season for most Filipinos. That's why we get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate it as early as September.
The early signs? The Christmas songs in the radio, the colorful "parols" on doors and windows, the Christmas trees in the living room..

Ate Lucile (sis-in-law) and Maricel are busy decorating the tree, while Sophia is on the floor, playing with some Christmas balls (lower left). |
.. And it is done! Ate Lucile and Ysabel strike a pose in front of their beautiful Christmas tree. |
Merry Christmas! |
I remember my last year in High School... I decorated our Christmass tree... while my best buddy naman made the Belen... ehehhehe..... it was our Idea and concept... sanga siya na inalisan ko ng dahon.. tapos nilagyan ko ng cotton... para magmukha siyang snow.. eheheh.....
ReplyDelete@musingan wow, meron Belen. :D haha! ako dati, yung Perla soap.. tinutunaw ko at pinapabula tsaka nilalagyan ng konting asin (hindi ko alam kung para saan yung asin), tapos ginagawa ding parang snow. lol..
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to set-up our Christmas tree! However, we were told to do just that after All Soul's Day.
ReplyDeleteI smell Christmas! :)
Ahaha that's so cool! The philippines sounds so good :D I went there for new years and the fireworks were AMAZING!

Myke
Kailangan na rin namin mag set up ng Christmas tree! Parang type ko yung christmas tree na may snow na nakikita ko sa mall. Para kunyari nag snow dito sa pinas. lol!
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a really nice tree :) We have to go through halloween and Guy Fawkes night before we hit Christmas, but some places are already selling Christmas stuff.
ReplyDeleteI also love Christmas season a lot. For me this is the happiest time of the year...
ReplyDeleteGanda ng X'mas Tree!
Thanks for your comment and visit Leah! :)
Happy Sunday!
true that, wala nga taung trick or treats! sarap magpunta nga mall dameng mga Christams decors, kaka-excite na mag-Pasko. i love your Christmas tree, ganda ng theme! :)
ReplyDeleteI may not celebrate Christmas but I still like the feeling of it. And how beautifully decorated the city gets and ahh it's just nice.
ReplyDeleteChristmas na naman!!
ReplyDeleteHay Lovet!!!
Funny how when the months start ending with "-ber" Filipinos start preparing for Christmas (3 months in advance!) completely forgetting that there's still Halloween (or All Saints, and All Souls Day), kind of a momentum breaker when there is already a Christmas tree perched in the house, and you're celebrating Halloween. Haha.
ReplyDeleteStill, our country is the best place to spend Christmas, the subculture and traditions are just way way more festive! Christmas here isn't just a religious Christian tradition anymore (even Muslims I know celebrate it); but more of a party, giving and sharing day.
Great pics! Great stories Leah =)
epic people are u hehe
ReplyDeleteI remember last year that we forgot to put up our Christmas tree. hehe. Been sooper busy with all the church activities that we dropped out on the tradition of decorations :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, Haha. we do tend to celebrate Christmas for months! but strictly speaking by liturgical standards, Christmas talaga ang pinakamaikling season sa Christian calendar :)
ReplyDeletebrain juice. hehe.
i miss my mom....haaay...nasad na naman ako...we used to set up our christmas tree together...naiiyak talaga me now promise... :(
ReplyDeleteHaha! Hanggang Feb? Astig! Advance Merry Christmas teh!

ReplyDeleteChristmas is near, bringing good cheer... dingdong dingdong... LOL! Pareho kayo ng font ni Salbehe...
ReplyDeleteHere in California, we still have two major holidays: (1) Halloween and (2) Thanksgiving before putting up any Christmas decorations. The stores, however, have already all the holiday decors on sale. It's kind of confusing sometimes when the Halloween masks are beside the Christmas lights. LOL
ReplyDeleteA Ladybug's Life
Sonnia
