A Lion called Christian

In 1969, two young Australians Anthony Bourke and John Rendall visited Harrods in London and bought a young Lion cub on impulse. They brought him home to their flat and named him Christian.

Christian soon grew both in size and popularity, that the men's flat became too small for the him. So Anthony and John decided to relocate Christian to Africa to release and introduce him to the wild. Christian found his new home in Kora National park, Kenya. A year after, a reunion took place.. a beautiful experience way beyond words.

In 2006, a Californian student posted the clip of the reunion with Christian on YouTube and then became an internet sensation.

This video may be restricted from playback on certain sites/locations. Watch it on YouTube. I really recommend it.

I know that this video has been on YouTube for years now, but dang, every single time I watch it, I cry.
It's so amazing.. so wonderfully beautiful. A very powerful and touching reunion between two men and the King of beasts.

    1. It was incredible. I was smiling and crying at the same time, while watching the videos. Christian's an amazing lion.. :)

I did too, actually.. but back then, that was legal. Also, having exotic animals as pets was considered cool. o_O

    1. They say having cats as pets is great, but it also requires lots of work. Aside from allergies, most cats have behavior problems that can be very frustrating, if not solved.. like sometimes, cats don't use their litter box, or they turn the curtains into shreds, or use the furniture as a tool to exercise their claws.. :P

Well, that's what my friend told me, when I told him that I wanted to have a pet cat. This was years ago, before I had my dogs.. I still want to.. but well.. my dogs. hmm..

      Good luck, Mark. :)
