Educational Guest Post
I've talked before on my own blog about the subject of education. So I'm going to see what I can do about it on this blog. A totally unnecessary thank you to Leah first of all though for allowing me to do this. I was always taught to be nice to women, so I actually suppose that is not totally unnecessary, and is slightly related to the subject of education.
See, education, and learning, doesn't stop at school, not by a long shot. I've made some things on that quite clear. I want compulsory school education to end at 14. In this country (England) at 14 you pick certain subjects, and do those, while still doing the mandatory English, Maths and Science. I actually didn't do that great at English literature (writing) and look at me now, I have a blog where many praise me for my writing skills, and I've written a few short stories and am working on a longer story.
I think instead that at fourteen you should be able to go into a trade school. School is not for everyone, so if you take those people, and put them in say, mechanical school, get them in garages and learning other skills, such as how to maintain cars, or other trade schools. Like plumbing.
Another thing you learn at school is social skills. You learn how you should deal with people (though some schools do this wrong). Your time at school can really define you as a person.
I like how I started by saying that education doesn't end at the end of school, and intended to keep going like that, but in the end didn't. Learning is something that goes on all through your life. Inside and outside of school. So remember, don't ever assume you know everything. You might know a lot, but there's still a lot you don't know.
Remember again, the path to true knowledge is knowing that you know nothing. I don't know if that's actually how it goes, which means I'm closer to knowing everything than you.
